Activists from around the country will converge on Houston, Texas
for the 18th annual GRPC on September 26th through September 28th. They will meet at the George Bush International
Airport Marriot Hotel to compare notes on the gun rights movement in their local communities, and to learn about
the future of the movement to secure our freedoms.
Alan Gottlieb, Founder and Executive Vice President of the Second
Amendment Foundation urged activists to: "Be there to celebrate the major victories we've had in extending
the right to carry. The people of Colorado, New Mexico, Michigan, and Minnesota, are safer now that their fundamental
right to self defense is affirmed in their legal system."
"We've got to work together to plan our future victories
in the battle to prevent the gun grabbers from attacking our rights" said Gottlieb.
The GRPC has historically been one of the yearly highlights of
the gun rights movement. It allows the vitally important grassroots activists of the gun rights movement to meet
with nationally famous leaders, such as Alan Gottlieb, Wayne LaPierre, and former Congressman Bob Barr. The GRPC
gives those involved in the gun rights movement a chance to mingle, share stories, listen to prominent speakers,
and learn more about the right to keep and bear arms. Towards this purpose, the Second Amendment Foundation and
the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms brings a small library of Second Amendment related literature
to the GRPC.
Educational books and monographs are given to attendees, and
even more are available for purchase. With the war in Iraq concluded, gun-grabbers are again trying to focus their
attentions on removing law abiding American citizen's rights to own firearms. This GRPC is particularly important
for gun owners, and supporters of freedom to regroup, and be prepared to confront the challenges that will surely
face us in the future.
