A SELECTIVE BIBLIOGRAPHY

While the subject of "gun control" may be on everyone's lips these days, what is meant by that phrase can differ widely from person to person. To some, the term may simply be shorthand for the best way to get certain weapons off the streets. Other may regard it as being the mantra used by those forces seeking, in the name of the greater good, to circumscribe the constitutionally protected rights of the individual.
This bibliography is meant to be a starting point for the reader who is interested in the legal aspects of gun control. All of the materials listed were published between 1985 and 1994 inclusive (for materials published prior to 1985, please consult one of the bibliographies listed below). With the exception of a few representative state and federal hearings and reports, all of the items listed are either monographs or scholarly articles. Finally, while many of the sources used were written or published outside the United States, this bibliography is limited to materials written in English.
