SAF: ‘IT’S NOT THE SUPREME COURT THAT’S WRONG ON THE 2A, IT’S HILLARY CLINTON’

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation today fired back at Democrat Hillary Clinton, who claimed that the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment, saying that it is Clinton who is actually wrong, and that it is “disturbing that someone running for president would show such little respect for a constitutional right.”

Audio of her remarks was released by the Washington Free Beacon. In that audio, Clinton can be heard stating, “The Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment and I am going to make that case every chance I get.”

“If anybody is wrong about the Second Amendment,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb, “it’s Hillary Clinton. She has spent a career working to disarm average citizens, and she now wants to become president in hopes of making her anti-gun philosophy the law of the land.”

The Free Beacon reported that Clinton made the remarks during a closed-door fund raising event, a fact that was not lost on Gottlieb.

“Clinton wouldn’t dare make that kind of statement in front of an audience that might not be so receptive to her extremist brand of gun control,” he said. “This seems to fit a pattern of anti-gunners. Remember when Barack Obama complained to a group fundraiser in California several years ago about citizens who cling to their guns and bibles? Hillary seems to be taking that same path.

“To argue that the Supreme Court is wrong just because she doesn’t agree is typical of someone who considers herself the smartest woman in the world,” Gottlieb observed. “That kind of arrogance is bad enough on the campaign trail. Just imagine how that would translate from the Oval Office.

“If she becomes president,” he concluded, “watch her try to fill high court vacancies with justices who would eagerly gut a cornerstone of the Bill of Rights. It’s time for Clinton and her far left Democrat colleagues, including President Obama, to acknowledge that the Second Amendment means what it says, and stop trying to rewrite history.”
